Dr. Diamond’s Metacine The Infusion
When you look at Dr. Diamond’s Metacine The InstaFacial Collection, you might be uncertain which direction the bottles are meant to face—and that’s a completely intentional element of their striking design. “A lot of people will ask which side is the front,” says Tammy Goodarzi, Co-founder and Chief Brand Officer of Dr. Diamond’s Metacine. “We wanted to design the bottle to be like when we evaluate patients in clinic; we're looking at the face from every single angle. We look at it from the front, we look at it from every side, we look at it from the profile. We wanted the bottles to represent there being no true front and looking great from every angle, to be symbolic of how we analyze the face.”
That’s at the heart of everything Jason B. Diamond, M.D., F.A.C.S., Beverly Hills-based double board-certified facial plastic surgeon does, from his practice that attracts people from all over the globe to the Instafacial Collection, a trio of products that are finally complete with the new addition of the InstaFacial Infusion. Boasting the most advanced collagen technology, the formula features biomimetic microcollagen that works in tandem with your skin to amplify its natural collagen. InstaFacial Infusion is designed to support collagen restoration to visibly lift, firm and hydrate skin, delivering both immediate and long-term benefits for skin texture, elasticity and radiance.
“What's different about it than the collagen that's been used forever—which comes from pig or cow or even plant-based—is the first combined collagen matrix that is biocompatible,” Dr. Diamond says. “It's going to be recognized as self and it has several functions, in that it's mainly producing collagen I and III, which are the most important forms of collagen that are abundant in youthful skin. As we age, we lose that. Those are the collagen forms that lead to the integrity and health of skin. This is a combination of both micropeptides, microcollagen fragments that stimulate production of your own and also go to directly support the tissue. So, this supports your existing collagen. This is what makes it different and really special from anything else that's been out there.”
Collagen is a key component of preventing the signs of aging. “People are finding out more and more how they need to be very proactive in creating a new baseline for themselves every single day and improving upon their collagen storage bank,” Goodarzi says. “With topical skincare, you want to make sure you are investing in medical-grade skincare that's actually improving your collagen bank. You can think of it as every single day you're improving your baseline, and that baseline is going to stay with you, even if you never continue anything else, ever again. In the anti-aging journey, you always want to be improving the baseline.”

But not all collagen products are created equal. “What I've heard over the years is people are skeptical of collagens, and I've been skeptical of them too because people will drink it and it's not stable, and the acids in their stomach chew it right up,” Dr. Diamond says. “People put animal versions on their skin, but because it's not biocompatible, they tend not to be as effective as they could be. This makes all the difference and makes it extraordinarily effective.”
Though they can be used separately, the trio of products work best when used in tandem. “All the products work amazingly well individually, but they work better synergistically,” Dr. Diamond says. “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” That’s because they work together to mimic the effects of Dr. Diamond’s signature treatment, the renowned Diamond InstaFacial.
“The InstaFacial was the motivation for creating Dr. Diamond’s Metacine,” Dr. Diamond says. Each of the three products is meant to mimic a step of the in-office procedure at home. Applied first, the InstaFacial Plasma is a super lightweight serum infused with bioidentical human growth factors that repairs and rejuvenates skin at the cellular level, improving texture, elasticity and overall skin health. Next is the new InstaFacial Infusion, which is the collagen component, a proprietary matrix of three types of bioengineered, human-identical microcollagen. The final step at night is the InstaFacial Emulsion, a gel-cream with a potent bioactive retinoid ester that minimizes fine lines and pores, plus smooths skin.
In other words, they’re bottled up laser treatments and PRP microneedling, just like the facial. “We're rounding out the collection by adding the Infusion,” Dr. Diamond says. “With aging, it's such an unrelenting, brutal sport that you have to attack collagen production from every angle you can. That's what the InstaFacial does, and that's what we've done with this collection.”
Between the three products, there are more than 30 active ingredients. With each formula, they’ve increased the number of actives, but finding the correct potency is tricky because they don’t want to cause any damage or be counterproductive. “Before the inception of the InstaFacial, they did PRP and microneedling alone, or they did just microneedling, or they did just a laser,” Goodarzi says. “But the magic is in the combination and how each modality optimizes one another. There is molecular synergy within each formula, but there's also molecular synergy within all three formulas. We're coming together because they activate cellular communication.”
Initially, the products were launched to help patients maintain results in between appointments, since many travel from far or would go away to film on location. “Then we realized this is even for people who can never come in,” Dr. Diamond says. “The product line works great, but the best you can do is to have an actual, real InstaFacial and then support it with this system. We did everything we could to make this replicate the InstaFacial as close as humanly possible.” Now, patients who come in for the procedure are advised to use the products in advance to prep their skin for the in-personal facial to optimize results.
Although they are designed for the face, all the products can also be used on the neck, chest and hands, and even as an eye cream, up to the lashline. Or, as Dr. Diamond puts it, “wherever you have skin.” Goodarzi adds, “For a formula to be very active, but not too active for delicate skin, like under the eyes, is a testament to the formulation.” Technically, none of the three products are moisturizers, though they do contain hydrating ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, so some people may want to add a moisturizer as a final step in a skincare routine, as well as sunscreen during the day to protect skin.
It all goes back to that 360 approach, and that can be credited to Dr. Diamond being a plastic surgeon, which gives him a different perspective from dermatologist-founded lines. During his training, to amplify his education, he studied with both top plastic surgeons and a dermatologist.
“I realized there's so many more advanced things to know about the skin than we learned as plastic surgeons,” he says. “Ever since I started, I was interested in the biomimetic techniques, things using like using your own stem cells, and all these things I was an early adopter of, and I started doing them right off the bat. When I started my practice, I was immediately getting pretty significant face results. I think a big part of that was the techniques that I had learned. I combined them to make them my own, and using principles of synergy. I was using these advanced skin techniques with my surgeries, which most surgeons weren't doing at the time. That's how the InstaFacial came about.”
Just like the packaging for the products, Dr. Diamond considers every single angle. “I'm dealing with the structure superficial and deep,” he says. “I see what's going on in all different layers. I'm in the trenches every day, so we have our own immediate focus groups daily. I see what works, what doesn't, and it gives us really good insight, and a perspective that very few people have.”
